WELL DONE PATRICK, WE ARE PROUD AND GRATEFUL TO HAVE YOU ON OUR TEAM!

WELL DONE PATRICK, WE ARE PROUD AND GRATEFUL TO HAVE YOU ON OUR TEAM!

It’s a wonderful way to start a weekend when we receive letters like these. Well done Patrick, we are proud and grateful to have you on our team! At Sernick we love farming so much, that we want everybody with the same passion to be afforded the mentorship and guidance they need. That is why our emerging farmer’s projects are part of our core business.

Dear Nick Serfontein

Re: Thank You

I am writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude for the contribution made, and I want you to know that you have exceptional employees in Patrick Sekwatlakwatla and Monde.

On the 27th October 2016 they visited our farm in Heilbron and on their arrival one of our heifers suffered complications while calving.  Patrick and Monde assisted with the delivery, but unfortunately we lost the calf and the heifer.

My gratitude further goes to Sernick Group, as emerging farmers we are immensely grateful for our relationship with Sernick, your support to us is amazing, no words of gratitude can possibly express how much we value your support.

Your farmer support programmes : farmers days, animal health programmes, to mention a few, assist us with information that is easily accessible based on our needs, really encourages us and keep us informed, amongst other things, the regular visits by Patrick make a real difference.

In 2015/16 we had a serious challenge with our bulls and finance to procure. Patrick assisted us and told us that Sernick can do a bull and weaner exchange. Again we were afforded an opportunity to sell our slaughter  ready cattle, I must say the exchange business is beneficial to us. We managed to buy heifers at the auction held in June 2016 and I am proud to say one of the heifers we bought has given birth to a beautiful healthy calf, and the bulls – so far we have seen five calves and guess what I named them Patrick and Sernick calves!

Thank you

Mthimkhulu Maria (Heilbron)

UREA POISONING GUIDE

WARNING

  • These animal feeds contain urea and other NPN sources. Pellets should be fed strictly according to the directions for use.

  • Animals that are not adapted to urea rations must be fed a salt-phosphate lick for seven (7) days prior to feeding urea rations. Vinegar is an effective antidote for NPN poisoning. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water and dose half a bottle per calf or large sheep and 2–4 bottles per head of cattle (1 bottle = 750ml).

  • Protect feed from rain as NPN can dissolve in water. Animals that consume this contaminated mixture can be poisoned.

  • Do not offer this feed indiscriminately with other feeds that contain NPN.

Contact the Sernick technical staff for further information and enquiries.
