MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Sernick Super HPC 40 is a concentrate that should be mixed with an energy component like maize and molasses to create a dairy meal. For farmers with their own maize, this is a cost-effective way to formulate a dairy meal. It contains the necessary proteins, minerals, and vitamins to stimulate milk production.

FEEDING RECOMMENDATION:

When transitioning from NPN-free diets to NPN-containing diets, mix the two feeds at a 50/50 ratio and feed this mixture for 5 days. Afterward, provide 400-500 grams per litre of milk produced. Ensure that pasture and/or hay is available. For more information, contact the Sernick team.

UREA POISONING GUIDE

WARNING

  • These animal feeds contain urea and other NPN sources. Pellets should be fed strictly according to the directions for use.

  • Animals that are not adapted to urea rations must be fed a salt-phosphate lick for seven (7) days prior to feeding urea rations. Vinegar is an effective antidote for NPN poisoning. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water and dose half a bottle per calf or large sheep and 2–4 bottles per head of cattle (1 bottle = 750ml).

  • Protect feed from rain as NPN can dissolve in water. Animals that consume this contaminated mixture can be poisoned.

  • Do not offer this feed indiscriminately with other feeds that contain NPN.
