Sernick Complete Lamb Starter Pellets are formulated with high-quality raw materials to stimulate adaptation and growth in feedlot systems. The product contains ammonium chloride to prevent kidney stones (urinary calculi).

FEEDING RECOMMENDATION:

Feed starter pellets for 14 to 21 days at the beginning of the feedlot phase. Adapt lambs by offering 300 grams per sheep per day, along with ad-lib roughage. Gradually increase the daily pellet intake by 100 grams per animal until they are on an ad-lib daily intake. After two weeks, the additional hay can be removed, allowing the animals to feed on pellets only. Ensure that animals always have access to pellets. Clean feeding troughs and water troughs daily to remove old material. For more information and advice, please consult the Sernick technical staff.

FORM AND PACKAGING:

Pellets are available in 50 kg bags and in bulk.

UREA POISONING GUIDE

WARNING

  • These animal feeds contain urea and other NPN sources. Pellets should be fed strictly according to the directions for use.

  • Animals that are not adapted to urea rations must be fed a salt-phosphate lick for seven (7) days prior to feeding urea rations. Vinegar is an effective antidote for NPN poisoning. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water and dose half a bottle per calf or large sheep and 2–4 bottles per head of cattle (1 bottle = 750ml).

  • Protect feed from rain as NPN can dissolve in water. Animals that consume this contaminated mixture can be poisoned.

  • Do not offer this feed indiscriminately with other feeds that contain NPN.
