Ram, Lamb And Ewe Pellets

Sheep Feed

REGISTRATION: ACT 36/1947
V20295
Nutrient Ram, Lamb and Ewe PelletsUnit

Ram, Lamb, and Ewe Pellets are formulated to be used to supplement:

• Stimulant feed before mating
• Supplementary feed during late gestation
• Supplementary feed for lactating ewes
• Supplementary feed during food shortage
• Supplementary feed before and during the mating period
• Preparation for shows
• Supplementary feed for overnight pens

Sernick Ram, Lamb, and Ewe Pellets contain a complete range of trace elements and vitamins, as well as growth enhancers to facilitate the effective utilisation of energy. Animals must be adjusted gradually, starting with 100 grams per day and increasing by 100 grams daily until the required intake is reached. Ensure that pasture grazing or hay is always available.

FEEDING RECOMMENDATION:

  1. The feed may be supplied ad lib. Ensure that the feeding troughs are filled at all times and that good hay is freely available.
  2. Where the feed is used as a supplementary feed, the purpose of the supplement, the condition of the animals, and the quality and amount of pasture/hay will determine the intake. A good rule of thumb regarding supplementary feed is an intake of 1% of the animal’s body mass. Animals must have enough trough feeding space to avoid trampling and to ensure that dominant animals do not overfeed on the pellets. Kindly consult the Sernick technical staff for information and advice.

FORM AND PACKAGING:

Only available in pellet form in 50 kg bags and in bulk.

WARNING:

This animal feed contains an NPN source and/or registered medicaments. Feeding should be done strictly according to directions.

UREA POISONING GUIDE

WARNING

  • These animal feeds contain urea and other NPN sources. Pellets should be fed strictly according to the directions for use.

  • Animals that are not adapted to urea rations must be fed a salt-phosphate lick for seven (7) days prior to feeding urea rations. Vinegar is an effective antidote for NPN poisoning. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water and dose half a bottle per calf or large sheep and 2–4 bottles per head of cattle (1 bottle = 750ml).

  • Protect feed from rain as NPN can dissolve in water. Animals that consume this contaminated mixture can be poisoned.

  • Do not offer this feed indiscriminately with other feeds that contain NPN.

Contact the Sernick technical staff for further information and enquiries.
