As a result of breeding programs for genetic progress to increase production, chickens and hens are more prone to illnesses. This forces chicken farmers to pay much more attention to factors such as housing, lighting, ventilation, air quality, feeding space, living space, inoculation, water supply, and feeding programs. Any form of stress increases the risk of illness, leading to production losses. It is advisable to consult technical advisors before attempting this kind of farming. Sernick offers a range of layer feeds formulated according to the latest technological developments to ensure excellent production.
FEEDING RECOMMENDATION:
Always feed rations to chickens ad lib. Begin with Chicken Starter Meal from day 1 until nine weeks of age. Then, switch to Pullet Grower Meal until the chickens are eighteen weeks old or weigh at least 1.65 kg. Hens typically begin producing at around 18-20 weeks of age. Feed Lay 110 until the hens are approximately 45-50 weeks old, then transition to Lay 120. For additional information and advice, please consult the Sernick technical staff.
