The finishing of weaners by commercial farmers is becoming increasingly popular. To successfully fatten the animals, it is essential to ensure that the facilities provide adequate feeding space, living space, water supply, and shade. Additionally, necessary precautions must be taken to prevent infestations of internal and external parasites. Sernick has formulated a Complete Cattle Finishing Feed for clients who have their own hay available. With an optimal protein and energy ratio, as well as the required trace elements, vitamins, and growth enhancers, this feed ensures that healthy animals perform excellently. The Cattle Fattening Concentrate is developed for farmers who have maize, chop, or hay available, allowing them to utilize these products effectively.

FEEDING RECOMMENDATION:

If a cafeteria system is being used, the animals must be presented with the product in the same way as was recommended for Cattle Finishing Feed without hay. Read the feeding recommendation on Phase C HPC. In cases where a full feed mixture is made, the animals should be treated similarly to the feeding recommendation for a Complete Cattle Finisher, as explained on Cattle Finishing Meal (Without Hay). Ensure that the animals always have access to enough clean drinking water. Kindly consult the Sernick technical staff for information and advice.

FORM AND PACKAGING:

Feed is only available in 50 kg bags.

WARNING:

This animal feed contains an NPN source and/or registered medicaments. Feeding should be done strictly according to directions.

UREA POISONING GUIDE

WARNING

  • These animal feeds contain urea and other NPN sources. Pellets should be fed strictly according to the directions for use.

  • Animals that are not adapted to urea rations must be fed a salt-phosphate lick for seven (7) days prior to feeding urea rations. Vinegar is an effective antidote for NPN poisoning. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water and dose half a bottle per calf or large sheep and 2–4 bottles per head of cattle (1 bottle = 750ml).

  • Protect feed from rain as NPN can dissolve in water. Animals that consume this contaminated mixture can be poisoned.

  • Do not offer this feed indiscriminately with other feeds that contain NPN.

Contact the Sernick technical staff for further information and enquiries.
