Sernick Animal Feeds is a subsidiary of the Sernick Group value chain, founded by Sernick Group Chairman Nick Serfontein.

“In my continuous search for the very best, I was repeatedly convinced that I had to establish each business entity myself. I wanted to do something which would satisfy my personal standard of what is best – and share it with others. That is why Sernick has grown into the value chain it is today. Every aspect of this value chain is cared for by us. It’s personal – so personal and hands-on that everybody and everything is led, managed, and cherished by us,” explains Nick.

Sernick Animal Feeds was established in 1997 to support the Sernick bull testing station and was one of the first links in the Sernick value chain. Today, our Feed Factory produces more than 15,000 tons of animal feed per month. About 35% of this feed supplies our feedlot and farm, with the balance distributed to customers throughout the Free State and neighbouring provinces.

We produce an outstanding range of 130 different mixes, including dairy and cattle feeds, licks, feed for pigs, sheep, broilers and hatchers in the poultry industry, as well as pellets for game farms. The latest additions to our offerings are our newest lick blocks, Sernick Phosphate 6, Wool Sheep Lick and Winter Lick 40.

To ensure the best possible product, we use the latest computer technology and a modern laboratory for formulation, production, and quality control. Every step of the process — from raw material selection to delivery — is overseen by our team to ensure high-quality products our customers can trust and rely on.
